Privacy and Accessibility

Procurement can feel like a lot of paperwork, but the questions behind it are pretty straightforward.

Can this platform protect our data?

Can everyone who needs to use it actually access it?

Can the vendor support the requirements our organization has to meet?

Those questions matter just as much as the training itself.

What Does Procurement Actually Involve?

Procurement is the process organizations use to make sure a product is appropriate to buy, deploy, and support.

Depending on the organization, that may involve legal review, privacy review, accessibility checks, security documentation, contracts, service agreements, and internal approval.

For smaller organizations, that process may be relatively simple.

For universities, nonprofits, government-adjacent organizations, and larger enterprises, it can be much more formal.

The important point is that a good product still has to be practical to adopt.

Procurement readiness matters because even strong training can stall if the surrounding requirements are not addressed.

Why Does Accessibility Matter?

Training only works if learners can actually use it.

That means accessibility cannot be treated as a cosmetic issue or something added after the platform is built.

Interactive training needs accessible navigation, readable content, usable controls, and feedback that works across different needs and devices.

Accessibility also matters at the administrative level.

The people managing the training need to be able to use the dashboard, review results, and control the platform without unnecessary barriers.

That is why accessibility is part of how SkillSaige is designed, not a separate feature.

Accessible training should be built into the experience from the beginning.

Why Does Privacy Matter?

Training data can reveal a lot about how someone performs.

That makes privacy especially important.

Organizations need to know what information is being collected, why it is being collected, where it is stored, and who has access to it.

They also need confidence that the platform is not collecting more data than it actually needs.

The goal is to collect enough information to deliver the training and produce useful results without turning the platform into a repository for unnecessary personal data.

More data does not automatically mean better training or better analytics.

What Data Does SkillSaige Collect and Store?

SkillSaige is designed to operate with a relatively small amount of personal information.

For institutional deployments, that can include a federated email address and a nickname or display name.

SkillSaige does not need to build a detailed personal profile just to deliver training.

Full conversation transcripts are not retained by default, although the platform can support that as a bespoke feature.

The platform can still produce performance data, scores, completion information, and other useful analytics without storing every interaction word-for-word.

Data for institutional deployments is stored within institution-specific databases, which makes deletion and account management more straightforward.

Backups may be retained for continuity and recovery purposes, but they are not intended as a separate long-term archive of learner activity.

Is Customer Data Used to Train AI Models?

No.

SkillSaige uses AI providers for language processing, but customer data is not used to train the underlying models.

Where applicable, SkillSaige uses zero-retention arrangements with AI providers.

That means the AI is being used as part of the interaction rather than as a place where customer data is being stored or reused for model training.

SkillSaige is also provider-agnostic, which means the platform is not structurally dependent on one specific language model.

That separation is part of how SkillSaige uses AI without handing control of the training experience over to an LLM. It means that the platform can be configured to run on an institution’s provider of choice.

Can SkillSaige Support DPAs and SLAs?

Easily.

SkillSaige’s founding team previously worked for large corporations and organizations. They built the platform knowing that institutional customers may require formal agreements around data handling, privacy, support, uptime, responsibilities, or response times.

SkillSaige can support Data Processing Agreements and Service Level Agreements as part of those relationships.

The exact terms can vary depending on the organization and deployment.

The goal is to make those requirements part of the implementation process rather than something procurement teams have to chase down after the fact.

What Accessibility Standards Does SkillSaige Meet?

SkillSaige is designed toward WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility.

Administrators primarily use SkillSaige through a browser-based dashboard.

Learners can access training through supported web, mobile, and standalone environments, depending on the deployment.

Because SkillSaige is interactive, accessibility work goes beyond static text.

Navigation, controls, feedback, content presentation, and other parts of the experience all need to remain usable.

Can SkillSaige Adapt to Organization-Specific Requirements?

Absolutely.

Different organizations have different procurement, privacy, accessibility, and operational requirements.

SkillSaige can support institution-specific branches or deployment configurations where appropriate.

That may include differences in data handling, storage, agreements, access, or workflow.

The same principle applies to the training itself.

Organizations can adapt courses, scenarios, terminology, objectives, and other content around their needs.

That flexibility is part of making SkillSaige customizable without forcing every organization into the same setup.

Can SkillSaige Support Bespoke Feature Requests?

Yes, just get in touch with the SkillSaige team.

The platform was designed from the beginning to support a wide range of deployments, so we are happy to discuss requests from enterprise and institutional customers.

That can include custom product functionality, deployment requirements, or training content developed around a specific need.

The goal is to work with each organization to understand what it needs and determine the best way to support it.

What Can Procurement Teams Expect From SkillSaige?

Procurement teams should not have to reverse-engineer a platform to understand whether it can be approved.

SkillSaige is designed to provide clear answers around data collection, AI use, accessibility, agreements, and institutional requirements.

That includes supporting formal documentation where needed and working directly with organizations on questions that are specific to their environment.

The training may be the reason someone becomes interested in SkillSaige.

Privacy, accessibility, and procurement readiness are what help make deployment possible.
